Faruk Pasic earned his Ph.D. in German Studies in 2013 and subsequently completed a one-year postdoctoral fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis. In lieu of a career in academia, he began exploring opportunities in the publishing industry. However, his brief employment at a medical publisher would serve merely as a detour toward the adjacent industry of regulatory medical writing. Faruk got his start as a technical editor at Synchrogenix (now part of Certara), where he learned the skills that form the foundation of his regulatory writing career. Upon leaving Synchrogenix, he worked as an independent contractor and then took a full-time role in the nonclinical writing and submissions group at Takeda Pharmaceuticals, in which he was responsible for QC of nonclinical reports and submission documents, PDF publishing, document formatting, editorial review of manuscripts, and document management. After four years at Takeda, Faruk recently took a position as Medical Writing Operations Manager at Vertex Pharmaceuticals.
