Ideagen unveils broadcaster & newsreader, Huw Edwards, as evening speaker for Ideagen Horizons
Mr. Edwards will be joined by global safety, leadership and organisational culture expert, Dr. Tim Marsh, and former British Army Officer, Chris Moon, in addressing the company’s two-day event
Ideagen, developers of quality, safety, audit, performance and risk management software, has announced the after-dinner speaker for its flagship customer conference, Ideagen Horizons.
Huw Edwards (pictured right), the Welsh broadcaster, and journalist will entertain guests at Ideagen’s Horizons conference for European customers in October.
The legendary news anchor will deliver stories relating to his career operating at the forefront of British media, including his interviews with Presidents, Prime Ministers and major figures in all areas of public life.
Originally a Parliamentary Correspondent, Huw is famed for his work as a news anchor for one of the world’s leading media organisations. He has since won a BAFTA award, made a cameo appearance in the Bond movie Skyfall and commentated on President Obama’s 2008 inauguration.
Ben Dorks, Ideagen’s Chief Customer Officer, said: “Huw Edwards is one of the most prominent, recognisable and successful journalists in UK broadcasting history.
“His ability to combine his newsroom duties with presenting major state events, from Trooping the Colour to The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, is second to none and his commentary during spectacular opening ceremony events, including the 2012 London Olympics which was watched by 27 million people in the UK alone, is revered across the world.
“We are absolutely delighted that we have managed to secure such a prominent and well-respected after dinner speaker and I am sure our staff and guests are looking forward to welcoming him to Ideagen Horizons 2017.”
Mr. Edwards will be joined at the Horizons event, to be held over two days at the De Vere Midlands Conference in Nottingham, England, by Dr. Tim Marsh, and former British Army Officer, Chris Moon.
Founder of RyderMarsh Safety, Dr Marsh is a world authority on behavioural safety, leadership and organisational culture. His books – “Affective Safety Management” and “Talking Safety” – are two of Europe’s best-selling safety books.
Chris Moon is a former British Army Officer with three years’ operational experience. In 1995 he was seriously injured after being blown up in a supposedly safe area of a minefield in remote East Africa losing an arm and a leg. He has since overcome those serious setbacks to achieve a number of personal and professional milestones. Mr Moon will address the audience on overcoming adversity and limitations on day two of the conference.
Mr. Dorks added: “Both Dr. Marsh and Mr. Moon are exceptional presenters and will add real quality to our event agenda. Their topics, ‘The Primacy of Culture in Determining Quality & Safety’ and ‘Overcoming Adversity and Limitations’ will undoubtedly resonate with our experts in the audience.”
Ideagen Horizons is open to Ideagen’s clients in Europe using the company’s Q-Pulse, Coruson, Pentana Audit and Pentana Performance software products.
As well as the gala dinner and keynote speaker, other highlights include an insight into product roadmaps, a series of product masterclasses and Q&A opportunities.
Mr Dorks added: “The event will bring together customers from many professional backgrounds and regions in learning about what's new with Ideagen and our products. The Horizons Conference gives users the chance to hear from internal experts, network with fellow users, learn best practices and enhance product knowledge.”
Ideagen is one of the UK’s fastest growing software companies, reporting its eighth consecutive year of revenue and EBITDA growth. The company has over 360 staff globally – including a global partner network – and more than 3,000 customers.
The 'Ideagen Horizons' event will take place on Tuesday, October 24th and Wednesday, October 25th at the De Vere East Midlands Conference Centre & Orchard Hotel in Nottingham.
