About the role

"A position exists within the safety, quality, emergency preparedness and operational experience team for an experienced quality engineer.
Reporting to the Head of Safety & Quality the successful candidate will manage a team of Quality Assurance Engineers across Site and Project Functions and be responsible for and manage the Site Documents through the Document Control Centre team. Specific responsibilities include the management and update of the Site Assurance Matrix, delivery of the internal and external Quality inspections, monitoring and Assurance Audits and ensuring that site complies with Company standards and Site Licence Conditions. The successful candidate will take a leading role across all site meetings and activities in delivering or supporting the provision of authoritative advice and ensuring or promoting Compliance through all aspects of the sites day to day activities
The applicant should be a certified lead auditor and have good interpersonal and report writing skills. Experience of using the Q-Pulse audit platform is an advantage as this is how audit findings and assigned actions are managed.
The role is not all about auditing but helping look after the sites governance arrangements and checking compliance with company standards and nuclear site licence conditions. A proactive approach to assurance both on written arrangements and those activities carried out in the field is a key requirement to working within a multidisciplinary team."
- Provide authoritative advice on Quality Assurance for projects and infrastructure.
- Monitor the effectiveness of the Quality Management System by preparing a programme of internal QA audits, and ensuring the implementation of these audits to the agreed programme.
- Develop and maintain documentation/procedures in Quality Assurance to support ISO9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 and Site Licence arrangements.
- Coordinate the maintenance of the key management control procedures on site.
- Monitoring the status of corrective actions resulting from internal and external audits, preparing performance indicators and reporting to management.
- Act in the capacity of Lead Auditor.
- Maintain required regulatory approvals as appropriate.
- Maintain required external certification.
- Develop and manage the Site Improvement Plan for Quality Assurance.
- Review and audit of site performance in Support Site and Project implementation of Quality Assurance arrangements.

There is a requirement to live within a commutable distance to the sites where the role is based. For central/multi-site roles, we have various hubs across the UK and can be flexible with base location.
