The UK medical refrigeration organisation adopts Q-Pulse to centralise management of ISO 9001, 13485 and 17025 systems
Labcold, the UK medical refrigeration organisation, will work with Ideagen to centralise its quality management systems – solidifying corrective action management and customer feedback.
The Basingstoke-based company, which was the first blood bank refrigeration manufacturer in the UK to gain a medical device certification, is to implement Ideagen’s Q-Pulse software across its UK operations.
Q-Pulse will help to modernise and centralise the management of Labcold’s existing ISO 9001, 13485 and 17025 quality systems.
As well as improvements to both the raising of corrective actions and the management of customer feedback, Q-Pulse will enable Labcold to align inspections and standardise document control.
Michelle Rogers, Sales and Marketing Director, who is overseeing the Q-Pulse project at Labcold, said Q-Pulse will bring with it “peace of mind” in regards to quality management.
She said: “We had to modernise our processes around our three ISO systems and, following an earlier audit, one area that emerged was that our corrective action system was slightly disjointed – which we were working on already.
“We identified Q-Pulse as it was such as tried and tested system – especially in the healthcare industry and particularly in the UK NHS.
“A well as the obvious time and efficiency benefits, Q-Pulse provides a peace of mind that a recognised software solution is in place enabling us to continuously improve corrective action, audit and document management.”
Labcold, celebrating its 85th anniversary in 2017, is one of the key contractors to the NHS, British Army and private hospital groups in the United Kingdom. Although focussed on its operations in the UK and Southern Ireland, the company also carries out selected international exports.
Michelle added: “This project will bring organisational consistency when it comes to quality management and will ensure that the data we are capturing and working with is accurate across the business.
“A particular area of focus from our recent audit, purely from a medical device point of view, was that we weren’t raising corrective actions if a medical device had failed in warranty. So Q-Pulse will allow us to automatically do that and sort, raise and close within the system.
“We believe that Q-Pulse will enable us to improve buy-in of quality management across the business – forcing home the message that it is not just the responsibility of the quality department.”
Q-Pulse is Ideagen's proven quality, compliance, safety and operational risk management software solution. It's used by thousands of organisations globally including healthcare organisations such as the UK NHS, Nuffield Health, Great Ormond Street Hospital, Spire Healthcare and El Camino Hospital.
