Ideagen’s Marketing Design team were named as finalists at the only UK awards ceremony for in-house design projects.
The team’s efforts in creating a corporate brand for Ideagen – including a new company logo and individual branding for each software product – was nominated for the Best Internal Rebrand award at the Make Your Words Work In-House Design Awards.
Ideagen's project was shortlisted alongside applications from fellow organisations such as Savills, a leading commercial and residential real estate service, and NSPCC's Childline at the event, which was held in London on Thursday, November 3rd.
However, despite a strong entry, Ideagen’s team narrowly missed out on the award which was won by NSPCC for its rebranding of Childline.
Judge Sarah Ellis Jones, Creative Design and UK Consultant at Vitamin T, provided Ideagen’s entry with an honourable mention prior to announcing the winner. She said: “From looking at the work from Ideagen, it is clear to see the depth and discovery efforts their team went to in leaving no stone unturned. They understood clearly the project in question, and where each brand was going to be applied.
“They also future proofed the brand by understanding how it might be used, allowing them to be able to bring newly acquired businesses into the Ideagen portfolio quickly. I loved their work and Ideagen were worthy finalists.”
Clare Gilliland, Head of Ideagen’s Design team based in East Kilbride, Lanarkshire, said: “The internal rebrand project was such as significant one for Ideagen and for the future perception of the company to customers, prospects and potential investors.
“Our team embraced the project, understanding the intricate details required for a successful corporate re-brand and tackled the project hands on from its initial scope.
“This was a hard but enjoyable project and, although we did not win the award, to be nominated and recognised for our efforts is great testament to the skills and hard work shown by every member of our Design team.”
Launched three years ago, the In-House Design Awards are the only UK awards that celebrate the achievements of in-house design teams and help earn them the recognition they deserve within the industry.
Ideagen’s internal re-brand project team included Thomas Miller, Laura MacFarlane, Steven McCurrach and Grahame Gillespie, headed up by Clare Gilliland.
As part of the corporate re-brand, the team were tasked with creating a brand for the entire portfolio of products owned by Ideagen. This project had to be scalable due to some products no longer continuing and future acquisitions bringing new products into the portfolio.
