Innogy SE, a subsidiary of German electric utilities company RWE AG, will implement Ideagen’s Pentana Audit software across its European operations for internal audit.
Pentana Audit, Ideagen’s flagship audit automation software solution, will be adopted across Innogy’s operations in the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Czech Republic and Hungary.
Innogy SE’s internal audit team of around 40 auditors will use the software to improve assessment processes throughout its locations, such as power stations and grids.
Thomas Schwarz, administrator of Pentana Audit within Innogy’s Internal Audit department, said the software will be used for the whole range of internal audit activities.
He added: “Pentana Audit will become our main software solution for internal audit and other auditing activities from audit notification through to follow-up and will replace the previous version PAWS, which has been in place since 2014.
“We were particularly impressed by the look and feel of the software which we feel is excellent and the best we have seen in terms of usability. It will reduce reporting times immensely, allowing us to create reports the business requires while on the move at all of our sites.
“Although we have internal audit staff across Europe, Pentana will encourage more interactivity between the team. Everyone will be able to access the system as they travel and complete audits.”
Innogy SE was formed in April 2016 following an operational split from RWE AG. The subsidiary is made up of the organisation’s Renewables, Grid & Infrastructure and Retail department and addresses the requirements of a modern, decarbonised, decentralised and digital energy world.
RWE AG is one of the leading power generation companies in Europe. It currently has a power generation capacity of over 40,000 Megawatt and a workforce of around 14,000 people in 79 locations.
Thomas added: “Pentana Audit will provide us with the flexibility required as a business to complete the standard of reporting that we require to ensure continuous improvement of our assessments.
“The software will provide Innogy SE’s team with improved ease of use, a strong framework around risks and controls and an ability to integrate significant controls within each audit.”
