Ideagen Raise Funds for Children’s Charities

Thursday 29 October 2015

Ideagen staff showed off their culinary skills with a ‘Bring a Dish to Work’ and ‘Bake Sale’ recently – filling their faces and emptying their pockets to raise funds for a children’s charity.

Colleagues at Ideagen in Ruddington and East Kilbride, cooked, baked and boiled in their spare time to raise over £250 for Together for Short Lives and Children’s Hospice Association Scotland.

On the menu were curries, cakes and cookies freshly prepared by staff for the event, which took place at Ideagen’s Orion House and Ruddington offices on Friday, October 23rd.

In Ruddington, a total of £80 was raised by staff through their bake sale for ‘Together for Short Lives’. Colleagues brought to work a variety of homemade cakes, having been inspired by BBC TV show, ‘The Great British Bake Off’ with highlights including a Zesty Lemon Curd Traybake and a Chocolate Banana Bread Cake.

In East Kilbride, £186.46 was raised by colleagues via their ‘Bring a Dish to Work’ event, with staff asked to make a donation every time they sampled the treats on show – with more than a few making several journeys!

Organiser for the EK event, Amanda O’Neill, Operations Supervisor at Ideagen’s Scottish office, said: "I’d like to express a huge thank to all of my colleagues that were involved in making this event a huge success – it really was a fantastic effort. The food donated was absolutely fantastic and attendees were treated to an excellent variety. CHAS do a lot of great work across the country and I think this was recognised by the willingness and effort from everyone at Ideagen who got involved. A fantastic day and a great effort, well done."
