Applications open for Ideagen apprenticeships
Jobseekers are being offered the opportunity to join fast-growing global technology company, Ideagen, with the creation of 10 new apprenticeships.
Applications are open for a range of roles across the business including support, sales, marketing and professional services. These new positions will take the total number of apprentices at Ideagen to 21. The company, headquartered in Ruddington, Nottinghamshire, employs 1,400 people globally, with nearly 650 in the UK.
One of their current apprentices is Ethan Moyes, who is working in Cloud Operations and Infrastructure.
Ethan, 17, from Bingham, joined Ideagen in September 2022. The company came up on Ethan’s radar as one he wanted to work for during his last year at secondary school.
“The overall experience; learning how a company operates and how different departments interact and how work gets prioritised – that's very important. I don't think I'd have got that at school or college. I wanted to get 'hands-on' and do stuff.”
Ethan has a clear message for other young people looking at jobs as they approach the further education-or-work crossroads:
“You need to have drive. You’re not necessarily thrown in the deep end, but you need to be doing stuff and having responsibilities. It's probably the best way you're going to learn.”
Ellie Shaw, 19, from Newark, is another Ideagen apprentice. She applied for an apprenticeship after recognising the company as a Nottingham Forest sponsor during a game at the City Ground. Six months into her role in internal communications and engagement, Ellie has no doubt about how positive the experience has been:
“I would recommend doing an apprenticeship because it gets you a head start in the industry, putting you in a good position for the future. Ideagen is a great company. The culture is friendly and flexible with wellbeing advocated greatly. I’m learning new things and building up my knowledge and confidence in a real work environment.”
Martin Weightman, Ideagen Talent Acquisition Lead, said: “We’re really pleased to expand the programme with 10 new places this year, providing genuine, interesting opportunities for young people in the region.”
Ideagen has a strong commitment to showcasing the exciting and varied jobs available in the tech sector to more young people. Together with Nottingham Forest Community Trust they launched the Think Big initiative specifically designed to ensure all communities see technology as a possible future career. Since its inception more than 13,000 young people have taken part in Think Big activities.
Candidates can apply for the apprenticeships through Think Big website, directly to Ideagen at Hr-careers@ideagen.com or via Indeed. The scheme is also being promoted by Nottingham Forest at their home games in April.
Applications close on 30 April 2023.
Ideagen's ongoing commitment to apprentices has seen them recently join The 5% Club, a dynamic movement of employers committed to ‘earn and learn’ as part of building and developing the workforce they need as part of a socially mobile, prosperous and cohesive nation.
