Ideagen is growing at a rapid pace and in-order to ensure this trend continues we want to further strengthen our commercial aptitude and directional sway in preparation of this. The role of Category Head is one of adopting a deep understanding of our existing products/ solutions portfolio and the capabilities within. Taking stock of external markets, competitors and geographical maturity in relation to the sectors we already service. Working collaboratively with several functions across the business inclusive of Product, Marketing, R&D, Development, Customer Success and Sales to further determine the direction of our offering, as well as explore and identify opportunities within new ones.

Key responsibilities:

  • Insights, Analytics – Working with both the Insights Manager and Business Analyst within your team you aggregate both internal and external insight to purposefully drive the business ambitions towards growth and optimising relevance of offering to the respective target market.
  • Product & Development teams – Forge a strong relationship and interface with both the Product and Development teams to assess the capabilities and possibilities within each of or across our product suite.
  • Commercialisation – As part of the planning process, assess the commercial implications of the proposed direction, as well as its impact on the bottom line, penetration and market share.
  • Pricing – Integral to the success of all SaaS based solutions. Taking into account all cost implications, modelling a variety of pricing structures and have as part of them a structured up sell and cross-sell opportunities matrix.
  • Projections – Reflective of the proposed initiatives that demonstrate what can be achieved, to whom, how and over what period time.
  • Outcome - Create and evangelise the collective attributes served up in the form of a series of commercial business proposals that would be approved by the Ideagen Executive team and provide direction to contributing functions within the business.

  • Works/ worked in a similar capacity with demonstrative case studies to show the impact of your efforts
  • Solid commercially oriented individual.
  • Detail driven, but equally able to step back to recognise the potential impact that could be achieved.
  • Collaborator, Team player.
  • Inquisitive, must look beyond where we are to where we want to be.
  • Persuasive, trustworthy and presents with a passion.
  • People management skills as the role has direct report
