£30,000 per annum

If you are a newly qualified Solicitor or a legal professional, looking to start or accelerate a career in commercial law, then this is the perfect opportunity to grow and develop your skills, within a dynamic commercial environment. This role is based in East Kilbride; however occasional UK and international travel may be required, dependent on the needs of the business.
 
You will be able to manage your own workload as well as meeting deadlines, whilst building and maintaining relationships with external and internal colleagues.
 
Key responsibilities:
  • Negotiate and/or review a wide variety of client and vendor contracts
  • Provide day-to-day legal advice to the business on commercial and contract matters
  • Researching applicable regulations and laws to ensure compliance
  • Contract risk analysis and avoidance
  • Handling or assisting with disputes
  • Assisting with debt recovery
  • Manage the process of contract terminations and enforcement of contractual terms as necessary
  • Fostering a customer-focused culture, delivering a quality service for key stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Updating and drafting contract templates and other legal documents
  • Undertaking training to key stakeholders
  • Completing any other tasks as deemed relevant and reasonable by the business
To be considered for this position, you must have:
 
Essential:
  • Qualified Solicitor in Scots Law or English Law
  • Experience in the area of Commercial and Contract Law
  • Robust demonstrable knowledge of legal practices; you will be expected to stay on top of new developments within law, practice and industry, and can effectively communicate this to the wider commercial team
  • Clear, articulate and confident in written and verbal communication
  • The ability to summarise information in a clear and concise manner
  • To be able to work effectively under pressure, to prioritise tasks
  • To be flexible and adaptable when dealing with conflicting deadlines
  • A positive hands-on approach, with exceptional organisational skills and self-motivation to prioritise your own tasks
  • Excellent stakeholder management with the ability to naturally build rapport and confidently liaise with colleagues, clients and the like
  • Innovative, proactive and able to respond creatively and effectively in offering solutions whilst managing expectations
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word and Excel
  • A passion and enthusiasm for your area of expertise
