This role is based in East Kilbride; however occasional UK and international travel may be required on an ad-hoc basis, dependent on the needs of the business.

Key responsibilities:

  • Negotiate and/or review a wide variety of client and vendor contracts
  • Provide day-to-day legal advice to the business on commercial and contract matters
  • Researching applicable regulations and laws to ensure compliance
  • Contract risk analysis and avoidance
  • Manage the process of contract terminations and enforcement of contractual terms as necessary
  • Fostering a customer-focused culture, delivering a quality service for key stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Updating contract templates and other legal documents, such as bid/tender documentation
  • Undertaking training to key stakeholders
  • Supporting with dispute resolution and litigation
  • Assisting with debt recovery
  • Undertaking any other tasks as deemed relevant and reasonable by the business

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • A degree in Law
  • Robust demonstrable knowledge of legal practices; you will be expected to stay on top of new developments within law, practice and industry, and can effectively communicate this to the wider commercial team
  • The ability to read and analyse legal documents and information
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent stakeholder management with the ability to naturally build rapport and confidently liaise with colleagues, clients and the like
  • A positive hands-on approach, with exceptional organisational skills and self-motivation to prioritise your own tasks
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word and Excel
  • A passion and enthusiasm for your area of expertise
  • Experience with commercial contracts
